There is one very important aspect to culture that I believe people tend to overlook…the food! While in England, we have been treated to very English fare. The whole culture of eating is different. The portions are smaller (except for breakfast), the way the British hold their fork is different and they do not take their leftovers home from the restaurant. The food (so far) has been hearty and filling. You walk almost everywhere so the pounds do not stay on. We have had everything from beans on toast to a pie at the football game to a traditional Sunday dinner with lamb. So far I have enjoyed everything and if anyone knows me, I do enjoy good food. We shall see what the rest of the week brings (hopefully some fish and chips next!).
